Our company

AIIM as a Start-up was born in 2019 after the merger of a university spin-off and the European R&D division of NavInfo Europe, to develop artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision (CV) technologies. Through our own research and close partnership with the Technical University of Eindhoven, we continuously build up our portfolio in AI-CV.

AIIM positions itself as an autonomy service provider. Current focus is on AGV navigation and natural load handling. Providing navigation solutions for assets moving through dynamic outdoor and indoor environments. AIIM’s technology offers a combination of 3D mapping, localization & perception into holistic solutions where others just offer parts of the solution.


What You’ll Do

AI in Motion | AIIM is a young startup company. We provide holistic solutions for the logistics and manufacturing, with the mission of bridging the gap between the human operated today and the fully autonomous tomorrow. As with any startup company, multiple roles/disciplines are expected to be fulfilled within a single person role. This role will lead the development team and combine project management with technical product ownership. With a strong technical background, you can fill in the role of solution architect as well as technical product owner role. You will work closely together with the rest of the core team consisting of sales, product management and CTO.

We are looking for a business enabler with strong technical skills, whose goal is to ensure that our technology operates in the correct way and fits the customer needs. You must be able to work autonomously and define your technical solutions roadmap, while being open for new ideas and technologies. In the role of solution architect, you oversee the practice and introducing the overall technical vision for a particular solution. We expect a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to deal with changing requirements in a fast moving and sometimes high-pressure environment.

You manage all AIIM’s projects. Your task is to align on the scope and plan, manage and track the execution of these projects, which includes leading and motivating the development team to perform. Our Project Management Office (PMO) will support you with the project administration aspects.

Using your technical expertise and excellent communication skills, you can go down to the technical level and be a trusted advisor to the customer, internally bringing Sales, Business Development, Product Management, CTO, and the development team together. Externally, you will be participating and engaging in customer discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively define a development plan forward. Create and maintain a backlog aligned with the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Advise on and develop technical solutions together with a team of developers and designers. Take full ownership of the solution architecture and processes around it.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and specific requirements, involving all relevant stakeholders (CTO, Product management, Sales, Development Team).
  • Full (Agile/SCRUM) project management: Project planning, tracking, and status reporting including issue identification and resolution, risk management and change management.
  • Validating problems and solutions by researching and talking to customers.
  • Ensure execution of the product roadmap as defined by Product Management, as well as meeting customer expectations.


Reporting Line

You will report to the AIIM management team for Business Line Report Meetings and Project Status Report Meetings.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Our ideal candidate has a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or related field.
  • Solid SW engineering domain experience in (LiDAR, Visual) SLAM, (AI) Object Detection, Computer Vision, GPS and related localization and mapping technologies. Preferably in automation such as robotics, mechatronics, embedded systems, process automation etc.
  • An entrepreneurial/startup mindset with the ability to work in fast changing environments with rapidly changing priorities.
  • At least five years of experience in an (embedded) project management role with customer & solution focus, able to deliver in time, in budget & according to agreed scope,
  • A solid working background with Agile – Scrum, Kanban – methodologies.
  • Experience with software development tools and environments like JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket/GIT, preferably in a C++/Python/Linux-based environment.
  • Good understanding of and hands-on experience with the complete software life cycle including design, implement, automatic test, peer reviewing, requirement management and documentation.
  • Proven track record in identifying project risks and define action plans to mitigate.
  • At least three years of experience as solution architect or similar, preferably in the domain of automation, working with CAFCR/SysML/UML or similar.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into innovative solution architectures and designs.
  • At least two years of experience leading agile projects as a product owner and/or product manager
  • Experience in being the central customer interface in execution of complex commercial projects with multiple partners & technologies.
  • Proven Product Owner skill set (internal bridge between Sales/BusDev/PM and Engineering teams as well as bridge with customer on any levels (technical and/or business)
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both speaking and writing), both towards internal stakeholders and your development team, as to internal/external customers.
  • Result oriented, sense of responsibility, take ownership.
